Very few activities can come close to the peacefulness that one can experience while sitting out on a lake in a boat, fishing rod in hand, waiting for the first catch to take your bait. It’s an almost therapeutic experience, so it certainly doesn’t come as any surprise that fishing is one of the most popular sports in America.

No fisherman can excel with sheer talent alone. No matter how talented a fisherman is, if his equipment is not good enough, his chances of landing a big haul of fish will remain slim. That’s because his tackle will hinder rather than help his game. Just as a bowler needs a bowling ball that weighs and fits right in his hand, the same goes for a fisherman and his fishing rod.

Originally discovered and named ‘Costa Rica’ by Christopher Columbus more than 600 years ago, Costa Rica is still being discovered every day by tourists from around the world. It is a tropical paradise with year-round great weather and a government committed to sustainable development. In fact, in 2008 a team of Columbia and Yale researchers found that of 149 different countries’ studied, Costa Rica was in the top 5 for environmental performance—-far above the United States, Canada, or any other country in the Western Hemisphere.

Situated off the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica along the shores of the Osa Peninsula, almost on the Panama border, you will find the Parque Nacional Corcovado (Corcovado National Park). This is a unique protected habitat and is the largest surviving forest on the Pacific Coast from Mexico to South America. There are eight different habitats to be found in the 42,000 hectares (100,000 acres) which form a tiny national park that remains for the most part unspoiled. Though teeny, it is one-of-a-kind. Literally.

Determining how much your vessel is worth a fundamental, but also one of the hardest elements of owning a hobby watercraft, especially when the boat is up for sale, but also for the buying counterpart, as well as for professional such as surveyors and insurance representatives.
As the potential seller of a boat or yacht, whether owned for pleasure or for fishing, and whether you plan to reinvest the proceeds of the sale into another boat or not, it is critical that you get the maximum used boat value from your vessel.
